I agree with Tartan. If you use the 50-40 block in combination with another block, it gives the illusion of circles. Fons & Porter had one on the cover of one of their magazines a few years ago with the 54-40 and and a star block and they called it friendship rings. I don't think the alternate block on this one is corn and beans. Someone just brought up an old thread(2011?) today with the corn and beans. These patterns have had a lot of names and I want to make every one I see, including this one
