You're right - it is very funny. That said, I have to agree that I like seeing where people are from. It's very interesting to meet people from all over the world and possibly learn a little about their culture. That gives the whole thing a very friendly feel. Otherwise, it's a group of strangers afraid to let anyone know what state or country they live in. As for "hiding" your identity from your SQA - does it really matter? And do people really have so little to do that they look at the postmark and then go through the user list to see who might have sent the gift? Sure, we can all try little tactics to throw the recipient off track, but if our identity is discovered, is it really such a big deal? We're friends, sending other friends love and gifts - plain and simple.
