I laughed when I read about her throwing scraps over her shoulder and I wonder if this is why she does it, especially since she is a "stripper", too. Gypsy Rose Lee (google her if you don't recognize her name) had a talk show in the 60s or 70s, and she always drank tea. She would take the used bag, put it in the bowl of her teaspoon, wrap the string around the neck of the spoon, press the lable on the bag, and flip it back over her shoulder!! Sometimes you'd see it whack the curtain behind her, sometimes you'd hear it rattle as it hit the floor. One of her guests asked her about it, and she laughed and said she had a special stagehand whose job was to pick up her spoons. "If i quit doin' that, he'll get fired, and I can't have that now, can I?" She was quite a character, just like EB.
