Default Mom's quilt finished

My mom bought this sampler quilt at an estate sale and it was about 90% hand quilted. I asked for suggestions and everyone agreed that the center should be finished with hand quilting. I did that, and was actually pretty happy with my results. My bit of hand quilting is to the left of the house block.

The other suggestion was that since there was a lot of fullness in the borders, I should quilt that in piano keys. I knew I would machine quilt that, and that I am incapable of quilting straight lines, so I decided to experiment with feathers. I knew Mom wouldn't mind if they weren't perfect, so it was a perfect opportunity. My feathers are better than my straight lines, but they will not be wining any blue ribbons!

But at least now the quilt is finished and Mom and Dad have it on their bed. It is a very nice quilt. The maker even made a signature block.

Thanks for looking,
