Thank you for helping, I have looked up the serial number, and that is what confuses me about this machine. The 1898 date shows other decals, and this is a shuttle. The size matches to a 27 but not decals.
My DH and I were talking and we think this may have been one of the machines that we purchased at an auction while we lived in Scotland, which might account for the oddities?
