A few years ago my husband made me a design board using two 4x8 1" Styrofoam insulation sheets trimmed to fit above the baseboard. We used duct tape to tape the center together on one side so it would fold and be movable. I covered mine with a large cotton batting secured by duct tape on the back. It works very well. Last week we made one for my daughter using the same method except we used an 80/20 nice white batting and I believe that it actually holds the fabric even better than mine. Both were nailed to the wall using finishing nails.
