I'm not a brand snob generally but if it works...I tried Fairfield batting many years ago when I first started out and I was not impressed, it seemed to tear easily and have thin spots. Decided to try the Warm Company poly batt (Soft & Bright) that was half the price of W&N and I haven't looked back. I've heard good things about Pellon batting too.
