This is certainly a fabulous resource for learning quilting skills - I've really learned a lot in less than a year from many of the wonderful folks on this board. Also, Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Co has an abundance of easy quilt tutorials on YouTube that are very helpful for beginners. Be sure to show pics of your work too!
