I think you already have made a decision, but for others looking for a good batting, my very favorite is Dream Green Polyester. It is soft and easy to work with. It doesn't tear, no thin spots. The only place I can find it right now is on either amazon or fabric dot com. It is reasonable priced too. (of course doesn't shrink like cotton batting might.)
