you can either draw out leaves on main fabric or i cheat and collect leaf fabrics. I cut out a 12x12 block where i can get many full leaves...cut out another fabric piece for backing...usually a leaf color (solid) then lite heat bond them together...i then either zig zag or straight stitch outline around the leaf and then cut each out close to stitch line. I then place and run a one inch stitch in the middle to hold in place.
