Well, some do and have developed this fantastic feel for the needle, foot and hand movements. There's quite a few youtube videos on it. I have a motor and pedal on my 201, and I don't do much freemotion, but have managed a bit of test stitching and a bit on smaller items. I now and then sew clothes like jackets and trousers when I have the time and find a nice fabric I like. The 15 and 115 are considered easier for FMQ. The bolt and mount under the hand wheel on your 115 takes a regular Singer motor bracket and if the bobbin case is still there it's usually easy to get it running again.
