.jpg is one of the many formats photo and other graphic files are converted to for storage on disk. it's one of the best to use for things you plan to post or email.
if you tried to submit the photo itself, i'm pretty sure the reason it didn't work for you is that it was too big. the word document was ha-uuuuuuuuuuuuge. LOL
i separated the photo file from the word document, then opened it using a photo editing program (free programs usually come with photo quality printers and/or digital cameras. i've never looked but i'll bet there are also gazillions you can get for free over the internet.) I didn't cut away any of the image. Debbie was just brave enough to send a super-closeup, so the whole block wasn't visible. i'm hoping she'll send me one that shows it in all its glory.
i made it smaller and more compact by compressing it. i won't bore you with the steps involved because each program does it differently. if you compare the file size of the compressed photo to that of the copy in the word document, you'll see what a difference a few little clicks can make.
I'm glad Debbie gave me permission to show this to all of you. i would redecorate a whole room to go with a quilt like this block could grow into. (I think Tim is going to be very envious. hee hee hee) :-)
