Hi all, Thanks for all the replies. As well as the complements!
When I posted this here, I also sent an email to the blogger I referenced in the link I put. She was awesome enough to reply and figured out how to draw on my pictures. Now, she has an app on her phone, but I have Paint on my pc! So I drew out her entire idea, as well as what I was thinking of doing as curves. My drawing isn't too awesome, but you should get the idea... I think some of you may have been thinking along the same lines as her, since you saw the V!
As far as the idea of stippling, I think that would be much easier if I was going to machine quilt this, but I'll be doing it by hand with perle cotton.
