I had this problem when I made PJS for all my grndkids for Christmas. Take it from me, you can not use the same pattern for knit on Cotton. Knit is designed to stretch, cotton does not have the stretch. Without realizing what I was doing,( hadn't used a paper pattern since High School Home EC.) I cut out my 2yr old GrtGS PJ tops using the pattern because,DUUUH! I saw cotton directions for bottoms so assumed top was the same NOT!!! The first top I made would fit a premee baby MAYBE!!!     But that top looked so cute. Now I am ready, I have ballpoint needles and the foot with a roller,I havn't used either yet,but I will soon.
