Hello QB. My second post here...I'm new and certainly have questions as I am new to sewing as well as VSMs.
Recently acquired a Godzilla 66 in pretty bad shape...just the kind I love to mess with. :-)
I was taking it apart and luckily I found this as I was cleaning parts. I say "luckily" because it was a clean break and had I not been paying attention to details, it could have slipped by me and then I'd be forever trying to figure out why my old Singer 66 wouldn't sew.
Of course, the bottom case has the lower "ear" broken off. It also appears to have a bend behind it as if it has been hitting something. I noticed many of the cases I have looked at have a similar bend. Not sure if they were made this way or not but it looks like there may have been contact somewhere.
Is this common? Something to watch for? Not a big deal to find replacements but if there is a way (adjustment or ?) to prevent this, I should learn about this.
