I admire beautifully made quilts where every point is perfect, all the blocks are in the correct place and there are no tucks in the backing.
I make quilts to be taken to the beach, park or playground. I make dog and cat quilts (for the animals) and I am happy when I complete a quilt. Will it lay flat? Probably not, but no one will notice when it is wrapped around a loved one. Are the corners 90 degrees? Nope, but that does not matter when children use it to make a blanket fort. Do cut off points matter when keeping a teen in a shelter warm, or does the love that was put into making it?
If I took the time to create a 'perfect' quilt every time, I would make very few quilts. I would rather share my love and less than perfect quilts who those around me.
Having said the above, when my guild was making charity quilts, there was one top that had an obvious mistake. The guild president (who is a delightful woman) was worried that it was not the guild's Best Work. She asked me to take it apart and fix the mistake. I was happy to do so for her.
