Old Classic Recipe--Meat Loaf
My DH loves meat loaf, and meat loaf sandwiches. I found this recipe in an cookbook by Better Homes and Gardens.
It is the best we have ever eaten.
1# meat loaf--gr. church
1/2# sausage
2 eggs
1 c. milk
salt and pepper,
sprinkle of garlic powder and onion powder.
bread crumbs of 2 slices of bread--toasted.
Combine the meats and using a spoon or your hands, (clean of course), so that they are well mixed. Add seasonings, add eggs, beaten and milk.
Combine all and stir until well mixed.
Place in a loaf or square pan and smooth down well.
Place a sauce of Ketchup and Brown Sugar over the top.
Bake 375 oven about 40 minutes.
Let cool about 15 min. before cutting.
