How about .... White Flannelette?

It is light in weight, and without little bulk. Though does give a little warmth.
You won't get much loft, but it does have a nice drape and feel to it.
Whether hand or machine quilted, it quilts up quite nice.

I had a 100" square quilt hand quilted using flannelette, several years ago by some local Amish ladies. They had never heard of doing such, but by the time it was completed they told me that they would be doing some for themselves!

After all these years, and a number of washings, it hardly looks used.
I made sure that I pre-shrunk the flannel several times before it was used.

Loved it then ... and am still in love with it!

...... I also use flannelette in runners when I don't want a lot of bulk.
