You'll also find LOTS of info right here on the QB.
Look for other threads about OBW, SAW, 4PPs, Kaleidos, etc.
Some will show you what the poster has made.
You'll get a good idea as to what fabrics give the results that you like/want.
Some threads have heaps of advice on choosing fabrics.

A couple of thoughts ... most any size of print can work.
The smaller the print, the smaller the blocks you might do.
A large print usually works best with a larger cut.
There's no problem with changing the sizes, as it's all proportional.

When buying your fabric, I would suggest you buy more than you need, as it's good to include some of the original fabric in your quilt, to show the difference. Using a pair of mirrors on end, can really help you in getting a preview of how the fabric will work in this technique. Be sure to take your mirrors when you are buying the fabric.

WARNING ... These quilts are addictive, as every block is a surprise as you make it! Have FUN!

Here's a couple that I have done .... First a OBW ...
Shabby Chic OBW .... Tout Fini! :)
This one shows the original fabric. I had enough to use for the backing.
OBW -- Looking Wonderful -- though can use YOUR help!! :)

Here's my 4 Patch Posey. For this one, I used the "raw" fabric in the four corner blocks.
