I took a class from a local quilt shop, and out here in the boonies, shops are few and far between. The teacher was an excellent quilter, but lousy teacher. We paid for the class, then paid for the fabric, which was not always available, so we had to shift gears when buying fabric. The hand-outs were not well prepared, so I spent a lot of time at Quilter's Cache trying to find out the name of the blocks and how to make them. I especially loved the music in the background at Quilter's Cache. I learned far more from her site than from the class. The quilt shop went out of business and the two ladies who owned it went back to the big city.
