Our quilting group brings purged fabric to the meetings and anyone can have it free. We've recently been thinking we could adopt new quilters. Last week we were invited to a members home to buy from her stash, pennies on the dollar. It takes being in the right place at the right time.
What I would suggest is joining a quilt guild and/or sewing circle and make it known that you accept donations of fabric.
