first of all, my rooms downstairs are very small but I have had queen and full size beds in them. for years now I had the smallest one just for sewing, misc. a few years ago I was having surgery and couldn't climb the stairs and I did buy a day bed, it has the trundle. I don't really use the trundle but love the day bed. Its not one of the metal ones, its all wood that is covered on leather. My daughter also had one growing up and now her daughter has one just like hers was. Great space saver. I love the beds that fold up against the wall (can't remember the name) but they are really expensive but look just like a bookcase, etc
