I was in a store and found a really good mat on clearance but it was really ugly. The lady next to me said she had bought one just like it and thought it was great but agreed on the "ugly" factor. Her solution: she bought some of the rug/shelf no slip liner, put a piece of it on TOP of the mat, and then a pretty throw rug on top of it. She had so far not had any problems with slippage and could change out the throw rug for seasons/holidays. I did the same and that was three years ago and have not had a problem with it at all.
