Since starting to seriously quilt in 2000, I have learned:
- you really do need some blenders and background fabric to go with all of those “Wow” prints you bought.
- why have just one red print in a quilt when you could use dozens?
- just get it done. Many UFO’s do not age gracefully and colours sometimes look dated.
- change your blade and needle more often. Neither work well when dull.
- it’s ok to gift, re-purpose or destruct partially finished projects that you don’t love anymore.
- buying a longarm with your best quilting buddy is a really good idea!
- sharing and gifting fabric, books and patterns with other Quilters or quilting groups is good for everyone!
