After finally getting my sewing machine back from the repair guy, I'm almost finished. He charges $90 minimum to service a machine and fix the problem. + tax = $100. I was stunned, but what's a person to do.
I pay $99 to get my old Bernina serviced and cleaned, and $139 for my new Janome. Nothing is cheap anymore. but I get the Janome serviced once a year, and the Bernina once every 18 months( don't use that one as much). As long as I keep them serviced, I never have any problems so I feel it is money well spent, and cheaper than a major repair.
