Thought I'd share a picture of one I made years ago that has held up to regular use and washing. It was a lot of work, however, and I had to buy special snips to cut the fringes or would have given up early on. The squares can be bigger, or you can do it in strips or rectangles instead of squares. I made a small one earlier using calico fabrics with denim and cut batting squares for it. These are very heavy quilts for their size.
