I work with a friend, always at my house, all the time. She does lots of toddler size quilts and we frequently work on them together. I have chosen probably 90% or more of the fabrics in our stash, and she will pull fabrics for me to look at which I will then "edit". I keep her taste in mind when I shop for fabric so always have some of what I know she will like (very different taste- she is traditional, I most definitely am not) We think this is about the most fun there is in quilting. I have taught her everything she knows, so we play together very nicely. My own quilts are only done by me because I am selfish that way.
