My sentiments, exactly ... denim is not a good choice for quilt back, too heavy. I have made numerous wall art quilts that were sandwiched with cotton batting and backed with cotton fabric, they hang fine. If this is an exceptionally large quilt, a narrow rod pocket can be added to the bottom of the quilt (in addition to the hanging sleeve on top). A wooden dowel inserted into the bottom rod pocket will add enough weight to keep the quilt straight and flat against the wall.
Oh thank you so much Nita. I do think that bottom rod pocket may be called for. This quilt is about 2.5 ft. x 4 ft. Should I add the rod pocket when I do the binding?
