I live in rural ne Ohio. Bears are a common sight in the area. If we see one we are supposed to report to ODNR for census reasons. But people find out and drive by for pics and are so ignorant to safety we never ever report! My dog is fed inside always, is watched if she goes out after dark. We always take precautions not just for bear but for coyote and cougar, believe it or not! No they are not sweet and cuddly or misunderstood. They are wild and opportunistic. I have a very healthy respect for wild animals.
