I haven't tried it, but if your intention is to quilt with the embroidery machine, through the layers of the quilt, you don't need stabilizer unless there is something other than the standard type of thin batting and cotton fabric. I have quilted several quilts this way, using Warm and Natural batting, and have had no problem other than managing the weight of a heavy quilt that wants to pull at the hoop if it's not constantly supported all around. Stabilizer won't help that.
