Don't store your dies laying down. You don't want anything to be laying on top of them. Either I did that or I wore out my 5" die. It leaves lots of spots uncut on the top layer even with a new mat.

Your fabric should be on the length of the grain as it goes through the length of the cutter. Otherwise, the cut won't be accurate.

I'm not a prolific quilter, but the only dies I've used are the 5" square and the 2 1/2" strip. I have a 4" hst die, plus the dies that came with the cutter. I've not used them.

I find I don't use it as much as I did when I first bought it. I get better strips with my Shape Cut ruler, plus you can use it for most any size strip. That said, my cousin uses hers for most of her cutting. She has arthritis in her hands, so it's a big help to her.
