Janey, When I saw your post I expected 1 of 2 responses. 1 "You didn't show the whole machine" or 2. "Leon, you don't need the clothes pin on that machine."
This is the only machine I have that has an arm to lift the motor off the wheel. I think it is for bobbin winding.
