Thanks, I think for bang for your buck they are one of the easier more forgiving blocks. (though I wouldn't start w/ the 24 blade like this). Precise cutting is a must for the wedges to fit together w/o tenting (to big of a center) or wavy outer edges (to small a center) though the to small center is usually easier to fix. You can do so much variety w/ the blade tip shape, and w/ piecing the blades (when you have a few under your belt) the width and length of the blades. Google dresden plate quilt block images and you will see such a huge variety.
