starch and press and they should lay flatter.
btw; I love string quilts and have made many. I am finishing up a crazy quilt made with my strings; always wanted to do a crazy quilt and now I have and probably never again, too many decorative stitches on my machine trying to get it quilted. But, I do love just string piecing. Thanks for sharing.
