I got a very serious talking-to about the dangers of sewing over pins from first her, then the owner. Surprised me as I thought it was a common practice.
It's kind of a no-no for any machine with a plastic bobbin case, though I still do it. What I won't do is use a titanium needle. They don't just break, they shatter and can really cause some damage when they do.
