Depends on how tall the man is because our son is 6 foot four inches and loves when I make him a quilt that is 112 inches long and 98 inches wide. Extra borders are not that hard to figure out to expand quilts in lengths or width. Since I am retired and he is still working, I expect him to pay the LA fee on the quilt or I don't finish the top and hand it over. Of course there is no charge on fabric or my time making it because it is a gift filled with love. LOL!
Whatever you make will be just right and will be loved, I am sure.
