What a wonderful retreat you have created for your mom. Is that gold lame in the quilt? If so how did you "tame" it? I have only worked with it a few times and it is so slippery and frays a good inch if you just look at it cockeyed, ok maybe that is a bit of exaggeration but not much. Did you use a fusible interface to help it behave nicely for you?
