I got some a few months ago made my husband a neck tie, and two friends bow ties. I made them "cheater" style since I was worried the constant tugging or pulling of tying the ties would damage the cork. They all love their ties and get all kind of compliments when they wear them. I only did hand sewing on them it was very easy. (oh I forgot I did machine sew on the fastener (velcro) to the neck pieces it sewed very easily just like fabric) I left raw edges which I passed a lighter over so the thread backing wouldn't fray.

I'm just curious if anyone has used that cork fabric? I saw some in a shop and it was very pretty. I think I might like to make a wallet out of it. The SALES ladies at the shop said it was very easy to sew through and required no special treatment other than being careful with the iron. It is quite expensive so I don't want to invest until I've gotten more information.

Thanks!
