Socks are knit, so they are not stable like a woven cotton is. They would be hard to work with, like T-shirts are. Maybe a stabilizer on the reverse could make it work, as is done with T-shirts, if the knit isn't a bulky one. Working with socks wouldn't interest me at all, not with cottons so available.
