That is my quilt on the cover of the book. Janet asked me to test the pattern. I honestly cannot remember how the doxies were set. For some reason, the balls were harder to piece than the dogs. My sister and I made the Kitties and hearts pattern for a Martingale book that featured heart themed quilts. The cat pattern gave us fits. When the quilt came back to me after being included in a trunk show, I gave it a friend who loved it.
