You could sign up for her newsletters and then you will be able to get in on the start of the next one. I did one of her BOWs, "Rest and Refreshing", and was very pleased. And of course you don't have to use civil war fabrics.

I'm with SewBizgirl, I really like the BOW offerings from Piecing the Past. Her instructions are really good and her patterns are challenging but doable. I joined the FB group and it's like we all work on the BOW together. We are getting near the end of her Summer at the Cabin pattern.
