I'm on my second electric black top stove and I have no problems. I wipe mine off after every use, just with the dishcloth. Once in a while I sprinkle baking soda over it with a little water and use a scouring pad. Then finish with a glass cleaner. Best advice I can give is do a light cleaning after each use, don't let it build up.
