I keep thread and coordinated bobbins in the same ziploc bag and throw them in a big handmade basket. If I need a certain color, I know if I already have a bobbin that color. My empty bobbins sit on my table on one of those porcupine bobbin holders. My only rule about the basket is that I can never put anything sharp in there so all I have are bags of thread.
