I am cutting denim jeans up to make a rag quilt and have been told that if I put batting in, it would be too heavy and I feel that no batting is a good idea. I think I will just use 2 squares of flannel. I got a lot of advice and there were many ideas on rag quilts so I think you probably can do whatever you are comfortable with.
