i have done many flannel & flannel backed quilts. i have found, as stated by tartan, that because of thickness of flannel (i use double fold only) that a slightly wider strip looks & lays nicer. i also frequently do a fold over, back to front, a very old & traditional style of binding. it looks great & simple to do. i use the foldover style in either flannel or quilting cotton.
