Default A Quilt: A tale of two fabrics

A Quilt: The Tale of Two Fabrics.

I wanted to test a feature of my quilting software and, at the same time not invest a lot of time creating a quilt top to do it on. Solution was to use a soft blue gray floral fabric that I have had an on/off love/hate relationship with for several years. I Love it because when I look at it I get a sense of peace, hate it because it is very thin and not my usual taste. I had no idea how to use it.

The other fabric used on the quilt is also a large floral - 4 yards -that I snagged off the free table at the previous weeks guild meeting. I have no Idea what the background color is. It could be black, deep green or a very dark charcoal according to 3 different people who are not plagued with color challenges the way I am. Amazingly, those two fabrics turned into a rather beautiful lap size quilt. One of the comments it received was on its emotional appeal; it was calming, peaceful to look at.

The quilt will be donated to a local nursing home before the Christmas holiday.
