I did have a problem with black thread once, I can’t remember which brand it was but after switching the problem was gone. Do you have enough batt/fabric on the border to move the quilt well? If you don’t maybe rough sew some scrap fabric so you have more control on the border. Nothing more frustrating then thread problems when FMQ.
