I just did a google search on benches with storage (which is a wonderful way to add more storage to a room) and came up with a lot of images. Some are open storage & some are closed. I think with some searching you should be able to come up with something to meet your needs. Maybe you could check out some thrift shops or garage sales for something with a reasonable price that will be good for your room. You might have to refinish it so it goes well in your room.
