I made this quilt for my great nephew. The pattern was in the August 2009 Quilter's World magazine. The original pattern was for a twin size, which I cut down to about 45" square. For some reason, my camera didn't want to cooperate, and the closeups of the quilting were pretty blury. Wish I checked before I gave the gift. :)

I had extra squares from the front, so I pieced them to enlarge the backing. I quilted wavy, watery looking swirls in most of it and diagonal lines with loops in the center of the small squares. It's the first quilt I've made exclusively from my stash...not a single new piece! I was so proud of myself I shopped a bit to replenish some ;)

It went together very quickly. I think the layout of the pattern would look good with just about any kind of applique. Next time I need a girly quilt, I'll see what I can do with this.
