I tend to try to find fabric that costs a little less and often end up going to Walmart and getting the $2.00/yrd or sale fabric at Joannes.

So now when I see fabric for $5.99/yrd, I think NO WAY! Am I being unrealistic?
I used to be right there with ya but once you get a taste of the local quilt shops quilting fabric you are not gonna want Wal-Mart and Jo-Anns so much anymore. But I always hit the sale bin at my local quilt shops and you can find great bargains and pay wal-mart/joann prices sometimes. But when I was just starting out which was not that long ago I did not feel as bad if I messed up on the inexpensive fabric and once I got a little more confident and more into the hobby of quilting I really like quilt shop quality. But buy what you can afford, I can not always afford the better stuff but I save for my special projects.
